Quick verdict: I took to it quickly, I love it, and I found it easier to adapt to.īUT, I probably wouldn't be posting this if it had gone well. I actually love FCP, but I hate Motion, so the jump to node-based editing (which I am going to be using in Blender), was an investment that it seemed worth making. I was careful in this choice: it's an in-house/no client job that has simple live video, few cuts, and basic overlay graphics that are mostly bringing text onto the screen to emphasize the speakers' words. ![]() I was amazed to see what DaVinci offers, and I decided to do a project using it, that I would otherwise use Final Cut Pro and Motion for. My motivation to change is really my combined aversion to two things: Apple's rather pathetic Motion, and Adobe's unacceptable pricing policies. ![]()
